The festive season is officially here — and with it comes the sparkle, glamour, and excitement of dressing up. If you know me, you’ll know this is one of my absolute favourite times of the year. Not just for the celebrations, but for the fashion.

There’s something magical about this season. The textures get richer, the colours deepen, and yes… the sequins come out to play…

29th October 2025 marks World Sustainability Day — a moment to reflect on how our everyday choices impact the planet, including what we wear.

The fashion industry is one of the world’s biggest polluters, from excessive water use to carbon emissions and textile waste. It’s easy to feel like the problem is too big to solve, but in reality, every single one of us has the power to make more mindful, sustainable choices — starting with our wardrobes.

If you live in Dubai, you’ll know our wardrobe seasons don’t exactly follow the usual fashion calendar. While much of the world is packing away their linen and pulling out chunky knits, we’re still basking in 35°C heat with sandals firmly in rotation.

And yet—by the time October rolls around, most of us start to feel a little uninspired by our summer wardrobes.

When I started Styled by Sarit, I never imagined public speaking would become one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

There is no denying her corset dress, designed by John Galliano for Maison Margiela Artisanal, is an absolutely stunning dress, a piece of art. There is also no denying she is a beautiful, successful, extremely savvy woman but I have a bone to pick (possibly one of those she crushed with that ridiculous corset).
